What moves the number
These hold for a boat in normal condition. What changes them is what we find when she comes out — a failing existing system that has to come off, or a hull that has been painted eleven times and needs taking back. We tell you before we start, not after. Silic One includes the paint and the primers.
If the hull has never been painted, look again at the silicone column. Bare gelcoat will not take antifouling straight off — it needs four coats of Hempel Quattro primer and two of paint, and Quattro goes on about 30% thicker than the colour, so the primer eats more material than the paint does. Silicone is a flat per-foot price with the primers in it, because it needs less primer and a cheaper one.
On a metal hull you will not see Globic. It is an excellent commercial-grade antifouling and it is what most fiberglass boats around here run — but it is copper-bearing, and copper on a metal hull in salt water builds a galvanic cell with the hull as the anode. On metal it is silicone, or a copper-free antifouling. The longer version.
