One — silicone fouling release
Hempel Silic One
The best bottom coating there is. Silic One is a biocide‑free, high‑solids fouling release coating built on silicone, and a hydrogel micro layer gives the surface water‑like properties. Fouling organisms struggle to attach to a surface like that, and what does land comes away as the boat moves.
It works on the hull and on the running gear, over fiberglass, steel, aluminum and plywood. Hempel rates the service life on the hull at two years, so this is a coating you live with for seasons rather than one you replace every spring.
Silic One is for any boat that stays in the water.
Two — hard, biocide-free
Hempel Hempaspeed TF
A hard, biocide‑free thin‑film coating that forms an ultra‑smooth surface to minimize growth and cut drag. Hempel builds it for fiberglass, steel and aluminum, for pleasure boats and for racing and regatta boats, and it works in fresh water and salt.
Because the film is hard and thin it takes a burnish and holds it.
Hempaspeed is for the boat that comes out of the water. Trailered or wintered ashore, it is the closest thing to Silic One.
Three — high biocide antifouling
Globic and the high‑biocide coatings
For fiberglass and wooden hulls, trailered or not. Hempel Globic is a high‑solids, chemically hydrolyzing self‑polishing copolymer antifouling built on Nano Acrylate Technology, with low friction, a self‑smoothing surface, and polishing that is active from the day it goes back in the water.
We carry Globic alongside the Sea Hawk range, and both yards keep the common colors on the shelf rather than three days out.
A high‑biocide antifouling is for fiberglass and wood. Never a metal hull.
Running above eight knots? Hempasil Pro is the sprayed system for fast boats and racing hulls. Aluminum or steel hull? Coatings for metal hulls.
How we put it on
Measured wet, every coat
Every one of these coatings delivers its rated life and its rated smoothness at a wet film thickness the manufacturer specifies. We measure it wet, with a gauge, as the coat goes on, on every boat.
Our applicators are trained to it and signed off on it through ESI University, our own certification program. It is the reason we warrant our paint work in writing.
